Rockstar Nerfed GTA Online Heist Payouts — Here’s What Changed

The GTA Online payout nerf is real, and larger than Rockstar admitted. The studio cut base payouts across more than twenty heists and contact missions in Title Update 1.73, which went live on 14 July alongside the Kortz Center Heist. The reductions were not in the official patch notes. Players found them.

The cuts run between 10% and 40% depending on the job. The Diamond Casino Heist’s top tier fell from $3,290,000 to $2,303,000. Doomsday Act 3 dropped from $1,800,000 to $1,080,000. Cayo Perico’s Pink Diamond, long the target the entire solo grind was built around, went from $1,300,000 to $910,000 and now appears in 2% of runs instead of 10%.

Alongside the cuts, Rockstar added a weekly first-completion bonus. Finish one of the listed heists for the first time in a weekly period and it pays a multiplier, resetting every Thursday. Run it again the same week and you get base rate.

Why the reaction was immediate

The bonus makes the picture genuinely mixed rather than uniformly bad, which is part of why the response has been so sharp. Run the Diamond Casino once a week and your first completion now pays more than the old ceiling. Grind it, and you have taken a significant pay cut.

Doomsday is the case with no upside. Act 3 pays $1,320,000 with the weekly bonus applied, against $1,800,000 before the patch. That is a 27% reduction on the best possible outcome, on a heist that requires a full crew. Cayo Perico is excluded from the bonus entirely.

Meanwhile the new Kortz Center Heist carries a x4 multiplier, the largest in the game and roughly triple what any other heist receives. It also requires a Mansion and an Art Studio, around $16,200,000 before a single prep mission.

Where the GTA Online payout nerf figures came from

Rockstar published the weekly bonus system and the increased setup rewards. It did not publish the reductions. The figures circulating were compiled by GTA Series Videos from community data-mining, after being surfaced by PLTytus on GTA Forums.

We are treating them as well-evidenced rather than official, and labelling them that way wherever we use them.

What to do about it

The short version: the update rewards variety and penalises repetition, so a week spent rotating between different finales now earns considerably more than a week farming one.

We have put every old and new figure into a single reference page, along with the Cayo Perico target odds, the setup mission multipliers and a suggested weekly rotation. Read what Title Update 1.73 actually did to heist payouts for the full tables.

That page is maintained and dated. This one is a record of what happened on 14 July.
