GTA Online Solo Money Guide: What Still Works After the 1.73 Nerfs

EVIDENCE STATE — LIKELY

The Title Update 1.73 payout reductions on this page are Likely, not Confirmed. They were compiled by GTA Series Videos from community data-mining, after being surfaced by PLTytus on GTA Forums. Rockstar published the weekly bonus system but never published the cuts. Under our labelling criteria that makes these figures Likely — a source with a verified track record on this beat — not Confirmed.

Moves to Confirmed on: Rockstar patch notes or a Newswire statement.

The short answer

Title Update 1.73 was harder on solo players than on anyone else. Cayo Perico, the heist solo players built their entire income around, had its targets devalued and its odds gutted, and it’s the one heist excluded from the new weekly bonus. The new Kortz Center Heist can technically be run alone, but it needs $16,200,000 of property before you can start it.

So this comes down to two things: a business that earns while you play, and a weekly rotation through the heists that still pay.

Start with the Acid Lab, and this is now urgent

Every payout cut in 1.73 landed on heists and contact missions. Business income was untouched. That means passive earning is now a bigger share of what a solo player makes than it was two weeks ago.

A fully upgraded Acid Lab sells a full batch for $335,200, or $351,840 once you’ve named the product. It costs $1,000,000 all-in and it’s free to install for GTA+ members. It can’t be raided, it sells solo from an invite-only session, and it fills in four hours of online time.

If you own nothing else, own this.

What happened to Cayo Perico

The numbers you memorised are gone.

Primary targetWasNowChance
Pink Diamond$1,300,000$910,0002%
Bearer Bonds$770,000$616,0008%
Ruby Necklace$700,000$560,00010%
Sinsimito Tequila$630,000$400,00080%

Secondary loot dropped roughly 10% across the board and the cash and cocaine spawn rates were about halved. Repeat runs now hold those poor odds for a full week rather than three days.

Four runs in five you’ll draw the Tequila at $400,000. That’s the realistic Cayo payday now.

Is it still worth doing? Yes, once per cooldown. It’s still one of very few high-value heists a solo player can finish alone. It just isn’t the engine of a solo economy any more, and any guide still telling you to farm it on loop was written before 14 July.

These figures weren’t in Rockstar’s patch notes. They come from community data-mining compiled by GTA Series Videos.

The Kortz Center Heist: solo-capable, not solo-accessible

Rockstar lists the new heist as 1 to 4 players, and the first run of the week carries a x4 multiplier, the largest in the game. A solo player who scopes properly earns $2,000,000 to $2,250,000 on that first weekly run — that is the $1,925,000 boosted primary target (base $481,250, ×4) plus $75,000 to $325,000 in carryable exhibits.

The problem is the door. You need a Mansion, cheapest being The Tongva Estate at $11,500,000, plus an Art Studio at $4,700,000. GTA+ members get $2,000,000 off mansions and $1,000,000 off the Art Studio, with those discounts reported as running until 12 August.

That’s $16,200,000 before your first prep mission. This is endgame content for solo players, not a route out of being broke. Repeat runs the same week drop to around $304,500 to $481,250 and cost $100,000 to launch, so the farming loop isn’t there either.

Worth knowing the cooldowns if you do get in: 2 hours 24 minutes solo, 48 minutes with a crew. Relaunch within 15 minutes of Raf’s call and you’re placed into Hard Mode.

The solo week that actually earns

Since the bonus applies to each heist separately, you can collect a first-completion bonus on several different jobs in the same week. That’s the whole strategy. Run once each, then move on:

  • Pacific Standard — $2,250,000 on the first run
  • Humane Labs Raid — $1,417,500
  • Series A Funding — $1,060,500
  • The Prison Break — $1,050,000
  • The Fleeca Job — $301,875, and its setups pay triple

Most of those need a crew for the finale, which is the honest limitation of playing alone. What a solo player can farm is the setups, and setup rewards went up across the board in 1.73. Fleeca setups at 3x are the best-improved content in the patch.

Add Cayo Perico once per cooldown and the Acid Lab running underneath everything, and that’s a solid solo week.

Session management

Invite-only removes the one risk that actually costs solo players money, which is losing a full delivery to someone in an armed aircraft. Public sessions pay a High Demand Bonus on business sales, tracked by the community at 2.5% per player up to 20 players, but you’re trading safety for it.

If you want the public-lobby premium without the exposure, wait for an event week instead. A 1.5x bonus week takes a full Acid Lab batch to $502,800 with no added risk at all.
