Naughty Dog is working on two new projects set in the world of The Last of Us, and it will fully reveal Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet in 2027. Studio head Neil Druckmann said both in a post on the Naughty Dog blog closing The Last of Us Day, which the studio marked on Monday 28 September.
Two Last of Us projects, both set after Part II
Druckmann wrote that the studio has “a couple of very exciting new projects in very early stages” and that “both projects will expand the canon of The Last of Us beyond Part I and Part II.”
The post does not say whether either project is a game, a series or something else, and it gives no platforms, dates or titles. Druckmann tied the announcement to Grounded II, the Part II documentary, where the studio first talked about telling more stories in the setting.
Intergalactic: nothing more this year, full reveal in 2027
On Intergalactic, the sci-fi game Naughty Dog announced almost two years ago, Druckmann wrote that the studio will be “quiet for the rest of this year” and that “in 2027, that changes. We’ll fully reveal Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.” He called it “what is shaping up to be Naughty Dog’s most ambitious game yet.” The post gives no release date or window.
$11,000 raised for AbleGamers

The No Return charity stream on Twitch raised $11,000 for AbleGamers by the time Druckmann wrote the post, and donations were still open. The day also brought a free animated Last of Us background for the PS5 and HBO’s first Season 3 castings, covered in this week’s roundup.
