PLAYSTATION STORE · DEALS · 13 AUGUST 2026

A new sale wave hit the PlayStation Store this week, and buried in the usual two thousand discounts is something with a date attached: all five of Rockstar’s PS2-era games on the modern store are 40% off at the same time, 98 days before GTA VI. Every price below was checked directly on the US PlayStation Store on 13 August; this piece covers only what we verified ourselves.

The Rockstar shelf: five classics, $8.99 each

Bully, Manhunt, Max Payne, The Warriors and Red Dead Revolver are all 40% off, each down from $14.99 to $8.99. That is every PS2-era Rockstar game sold on the modern store, all PS4-playable, for less than $45 combined, in the run-up to the most anticipated launch in the company’s history. Bully remains the one people keep asking Rockstar to remaster; at $8.99 the original is the only version anyone can buy, and it holds up. Max Payne is the more interesting purchase in 2026: Remedy has announced a remake of the first two games, which makes the original a curiosity worth playing before the comparison exists.

The heavy hitters

Black Myth: Wukong takes its first meaningful cut at 30% off, $41.99. Gears of War: Reloaded, still a novelty as a Gears game on a PlayStation storefront, is half price at $19.99. UFC 6’s Ultimate Edition is 15% off at $84.99 within months of release, which says more about edition pricing than about the discount. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s cross-gen bundle is the deep cut of the wave at 72% off, $19.59.

Worth a look under $12

The Outlast Trials at 70% off ($11.99) is the pick for co-op horror, still receiving seasonal content. Mad Max at 75% off ($4.99) remains the most underrated open-world game of its generation and costs less than a coffee.

The verdict

If GTA VI is why you are here, the Rockstar shelf is the story: under $45 for five PS2-era Rockstar games, 98 days before 19 November. Draw your own conclusion about the timing. Everything else is a normal sale wave with two or three genuine standouts. Prices were checked on 13 August; PlayStation sale waves typically rotate every few weeks, and this page’s parent hub tracks the current one.
