Crimson Desert has three legendary horses, and all three can be tamed from Chapter 1. Pearl Abyss’s patch notes do not name them; the locations, stats and taming method below are from our own play on patch 2.03.02. The special-mount and saddle facts come from the notes.

No story gate: all three can be tamed from Chapter 1

We could reach and tame each horse as soon as we got to its area, from Chapter 1. None is locked behind a quest.

Royler: Pailune, the Silverwolf Mountains, near Snowgrass Hearth

The white horse, by the lake near the Snowgrass Hearth camp in the Silverwolf Mountains, Pailune. The cold here drains your Stamina, which the taming minigame depends on: it took us several failed attempts before we equipped cold-resistant items and gear, and then the taming held.

Rokade: Hernand, the Steel Mountains, near the Spire of Insight

The black horse, by the pool west of the Spire of Insight in the Steel Mountains, southern Hernand. Our Rokade at level 5 reads 1,090 Health, 315 Stamina, Attack 41 and Defence 85.

Camora: Tashkalp, Redtree Forest

The red horse, in Redtree Forest in Tashkalp, marked by red-leafed trees and pale baobab-like trunks by the Red River. Palmar Leaf grows here too; see the gathering guide.

Taming: hold the stick towards the horse’s rear, no button mashing

The taming minigame has no timed prompts and no mashing. You hold your directional input continuously towards the horse’s rear, opposite the way it is facing, and keep the camera on it while you manage your Stamina.

Better saddles add flat Health and Attack; none hides a stat

No saddle tier holds back a stat until you fit a better one. Moving up from a Shabby Saddle to a Hernandian, Hagaman or Demenissian Saddle adds a larger flat amount of Health or Attack to your mount.

Special mounts: tame by subduing and feeding

Patch 1.06.00 added special mounts: bears, boars, wolves, deer, mountain goats, Kuku Birds, iguanas, raptors, camels, lions and tigers. Ferocious animals are tamed by subduing and feeding them; some species need their own method, and feeding an untamable animal does nothing to its trust. You can feed a mount while riding it. Patch 1.07.00 added more wolf and bear types and reins for certain mounts; 1.10.00 added wyvern mounts; 1.05.00 fixed legendary mounts failing to summon.
