Does GTA 6 launch with an online mode? No online spending is planned at launch, Take-Two says, and the current GTA Online carries on. Rockstar has said nothing about a GTA 6 online mode.

What is confirmed

At Take-Two’s annual shareholder meeting on September 17, chief executive Strauss Zelnick said “there’s no recurrent consumer spending anticipated with regard to this launch”, and that GTA Online in GTA 5 “continues to be a robust business for us”. “Anticipated” is his hedge and we keep it.

TechRadar reported a second line from the same meeting, attributed to Take-Two rather than a named executive: “GTA 6 is a single-player title and is due to release this November. We will continue to support GTA Online after GTA 6 release and beyond.” The meeting was audio-only and we have not heard the recording, so we carry this as reported.

What is not known

Whether GTA 6 gets an online mode after launch, and when. Rockstar has said nothing on it.
