THE RUMOUR LEDGER, ED. 9

A GTA 6 PC port report from a named journalist, an employment tribunal opening in Glasgow, a collector’s box photographed then deleted, and a Nintendo Direct that ignored the week’s loudest leaks. Every claim scored, every score sourced.

How to read this

The ledger tracks claims across the games we cover and scores each one on five evidence states. Confirmed is first-party only, the publisher on the record. Likely is strong secondary sourcing with a track record behind it. Possible is a plausible claim with no developer confirmation. Unverified is tracked for significance rather than credibility. Debunked is struck through and kept, because we do not delete our mistakes or anyone else’s. Use the filters to sort by evidence state.

The ledger

Eight claims moved or entered this week. Use the filters to sort by evidence state.

ROCKSTAR TRIBUNAL

The employment tribunal over Rockstar’s dismissal of 31 workers opened in Glasgow on September 10, 2026 and is listed to run to October 16. New entry, Confirmed. The IWGB, a party to the case, says the workers were dismissed for union activity; Rockstar says they were dismissed for messages in a private union Discord channel that “breached their confidentiality agreements”. The workers seek reinstatement or compensation and a finding of unfair dismissal. The fact of the hearing is Confirmed; the competing characterisations are each side’s claim and stay attributed. Moves on: the tribunal’s ruling, or either side settling.

PC PORT TIMING

Rockstar may bring the GTA 6 PC version forward, per VGC’s Andy Robinson. New entry, Possible. Robinson said on the VGC podcast: “I think they’ll bring forward the PC version; there are some rumors about that. Maybe the PC version will come sooner than some people expect because of the current situation.” That is a named journalist hedging his own sentence twice, so it scores Possible, not Likely. No PC version has been announced at all: Rockstar’s live pre-order flow still offers PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. A separate insider figure of February 2027, from DetectiveSeeds, enters Unverified inside this claim. Moves on: any Rockstar or Take-Two statement naming PC, or a rating-board listing.

GTA 6 DUALSENSE

Sony has two limited-edition GTA 6 DualSense controllers up for pre-order, black and white, with the black edition a PlayStation Direct exclusive at $84.00, releasing November 19. New entry, Confirmed. This is first-party twice over: Sony’s own marketing email of September 10 announces “two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers, now available to pre-order”, with “a shimmering, iridescent finish, textured palm leaf details, and official Grand Theft Auto VI branding”, and the PlayStation Direct product page lists the black edition at $84.00 with a November 19, 2026 release, marked PS Direct exclusive and compatible with PS5, PC, Mac and mobile. One correction along the way: several outlets printed $84.99; the store figure is $84.00, and we print the store figure. The white edition’s page has not been read this week, so its price is not asserted here. Moves on: nothing; closed on the announcement, open on availability.

COLLECTORS EDITION BOX

Photos said to show a GTA 6 collector’s edition box, including a slot shaped for a disc, were posted by a packaging-firm employee and then deleted. New entry, Unverified. The images, attributed to an employee of a Mexican packaging company, showed a black box with GTA 6 and Vice City Leonida marks. Sceptics note the box outmeasures PS5 console packaging and could be a press or influencer kit. It also cuts against everything on the record: both current editions are digital or code in box, and no collector’s edition has been announced. Take-Two’s CEO has previously promised a big physical component, which is why this is tracked at all. Moves on: an official announcement, or a credible debunk of the photos.

SMASH NEXT ENTRY

A new Super Smash Bros., a Nintendogs revival and Luigi’s Mansion 4 were claimed by leakers ahead of the September 9 Nintendo Direct. None appeared. New entry, Unverified. The claims came from Malo932, a leaker with prior accurate calls, and NecroFelipe. The Direct came and went with a Switch 2 third-party slate and a new 2D Metroid, Metroid Ravenous, dated January 28, 2027, and none of the three claims surfaced. The claims carried no dates, so absence from one Direct does not debunk them; it does mean they now stand on the leakers’ word alone. Malo932 has since deleted their recent YouTube comments and renamed their account “stop”, which is noted, not scored. Moves on: a Nintendo announcement, or the claims being withdrawn.

GTA ONLINE WEEKLY

This week in GTA Online (September 10 to 16): earn GTA$1,000,000 selling MC Business or Acid Lab product for a GTA$1,000,000 bonus and the Junk Tracksuit, 2x GTA$ and RP on Clubhouse Contracts, MC Work and MC Challenges, and the Grapeseed Clubhouse free. Rolling, Confirmed. The figures are read off Rockstar’s own event post, per our Biker Week coverage, which is what promotes this rolling entry from Likely to Confirmed under the standing rule. Moves on: next Thursday’s reset.

SUBPOENA SCOPE

Take-Two’s SDNY subpoenas gave Microsoft and Discord until September 4 to comply. A week on, there is no public reporting of compliance, objection or service. Held at Confirmed on the filings; the deadline’s outcome is unknown. Discord’s last word on the record, from marketing director Ryan K. Rigney in late August, was that it “has not yet been served with a subpoena” and would “evaluate the validity and scope before responding” when it is. The filings are fact; what happened on September 4 is not yet public. Being named in the filing is not an accusation. The wider hunt Ed. 8 tracked, Take-Two’s DMCA subpoenas to X and Google, saw no public movement this week either. Moves on: a docket entry, a company statement, or reporting on the deadline.

PRE-ORDER FIGURE

GTA 6 pre-orders are estimated at about 4.77 million copies and roughly $446 million in revenue, per Sensor Tower’s August 31 update. Updated, Likely. The figure supersedes the ~$180m Newzoo estimate this ledger carried since it was the only one standing; Sensor Tower’s revision (up from 4.38 million and about $429 million) is built on four-million-plus public player profiles, split 77% PlayStation to 23% Xbox. The caveat travels with the number: Sensor Tower’s console tracking launched only months before this estimate, so the split is newer methodology than its Steam data. The only first-party word remains Take-Two’s, and it is deliberately numberless: pre-order demand was “unprecedented and astonishing” on the June-quarter earnings call, and the company declined to attach a figure. The characterisation is Confirmed; every number is an estimate and stays Likely. Moves on: any Take-Two or Rockstar figure on the record.

What did not move

GTA ONLINE IN VI (Unverified): another silent week on GTA Online’s relationship to GTA VI, the ninth in a row by our count. FOOTAGE AGE (Likely): no frame-level comparison has yet published its method. LEAKER PLAYABLE BUILD (Unverified): no new substantiation, and Cyberleek’s silence, noted in Ed. 8, continued through this week. PRELOAD, NOVEMBER 12 (Confirmed): unchanged against Rockstar’s support page as last verified. GTA 6 DATE (Confirmed as a statement, Possible as an outcome): November 19, 2026 stands; it was set for May 26, 2026 and moved to November 19, 2026, which is why the outcome stays Possible until the DEF 14A or launch. RDR2 UPGRADE (Unverified): quiet. 2K FOOTBALL RIVAL (Unverified): quiet.

Struck, but tracked

Debunked and still circulating: the $1 BILLION CLAIM on pre-orders, the AUGUST 6 TRAILER, SITE CHANGE SIGNAL, TRAILER 3 WINDOW, ALL NINE REGIONS, and our own KORTZ CENTER error, which stays on this list because a ledger that only lists other people’s mistakes is not a ledger.

THE PLAYTHEORY TAKE

The week’s pattern is claims migrating from the game to the business around it. Nothing moved on what GTA 6 is; plenty moved on how it will be sold, packaged, ported and litigated. That is what the final stretch before a launch looks like: the game itself goes quiet while the machinery around it gets loud. The PC port line is worth watching precisely because Robinson would not have said it idly, and worth doubting precisely because he doubted it himself in the same sentence. And the Glasgow tribunal is the one entry here with a fixed end date and real stakes either way; it will still be sitting in October when most of this week’s box-photo chatter is forgotten.
