THE RUMOUR LEDGER · ED. 10 · SEPTEMBER 12 TO 18, 2026

GTA 6 launches on November 19 as a single-player game with no recurrent spending anticipated, Take-Two’s CEO said at the September 17 shareholder meeting, which moves a claim this ledger has held at Unverified since Edition 4. Also this week: a 34-track official album, the first cast member confirmed by the actor himself, a PC hint that stops short of a promise, and a Twitch executive putting GTA 6 multiplayer in 2027.

How to read this

Every claim in the ledger carries one of five evidence states. Confirmed is first-party only, the publisher on the record. Likely is strong secondary sourcing with a track record behind it. Possible is a plausible claim with no developer confirmation. Unverified is tracked for significance rather than credibility. Debunked is struck through and kept, because we do not delete our mistakes or anyone else’s. Use the filters to sort by evidence state.

The ledger

Seven claims moved or entered this week.

GTA ONLINE IN VI

GTA 6 launches on November 19 as a single-player game, with no recurrent consumer spending anticipated at launch. Unverified to Confirmed, on the launch question. After nine silent weeks this claim moved on the trigger the ledger named for it in Edition 4, a Take-Two remark at an investor event. At the annual shareholder meeting on September 17, CEO Strauss Zelnick said “there’s no recurrent consumer spending anticipated with regard to this launch”, and that GTA Online in GTA 5 “continues to be a robust business for us”. “Anticipated” is his hedge and we keep it. He declined to say how recurrent spending develops after launch, and Rockstar has said nothing about a GTA VI online mode. Moves on: a Rockstar Newswire post about online plans, or launch day.

GTA 6 MULTIPLAYER 2027

GTA 6’s multiplayer launches in 2027, after the single-player release. New entry, Likely. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg on September 17: “You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.” In the same interview he said Twitch had “spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans”. That is a second-party executive relaying a Rockstar conversation with a timeframe attached, which is Likely, not Confirmed: neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has given a multiplayer date, and Zelnick’s remarks the same day covered launch only. Moves on: a Rockstar Newswire post or a Take-Two statement with a window; moves down on a Rockstar or Take-Two correction.

GTA 6 ALBUM AND SPOTIFY

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 original tracks made with Atlantic Records, releases November 19; six singles are out now. New entry, Confirmed, and it closes the Spotify question. Rockstar’s Newswire post names the six singles: Yung Lean with Future and Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso with PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and Etienne de Crécy, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, and Keith Richards. The official store lists a limited vinyl at $124.98, a standard vinyl at $49.98 and a CD at $19.98. The Spotify billboards of September 16 were promotion for a pre-save, not an exclusive: Spotify is not named in Rockstar’s announcement and the album is on “all major music streaming services”. Moves on: the full tracklist, or Rockstar’s promised details on the score and in-game radio. Our report: The Album, 34 tracks, six singles.

FIRST CAST MEMBER

Stephen Root is in GTA 6. New entry, Confirmed, attributed to the actor. Root said at a public appearance: “Yeah, you are going to see me in there. It’s coming out November 19.” The character is Brian Heder, matched to Root by likeness from Trailer 2; Rockstar has published a Heder biography on its Only in Leonida page (“a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys”) but no cast list, so the confirmation is Root’s, not Rockstar’s. Jason and Lucia’s actors remain unnamed by anyone. Moves on: Rockstar publishing a cast list, or Rockstar naming Root.

PC PORT TIMING

GTA 6 may come to PC sooner than Rockstar’s past pattern of a year or more. Holds at Possible, with an on-record data point added. Last week this rested on a VGC journalist’s hedge. On September 17 Zelnick told shareholders “the PC is becoming more and more important to our company over time” and that Take-Two launches “for any platforms for which there is a meaningful audience”. In a Bloomberg interview on May 4 he put PC at “45, 50% of the sales” on a big title. He did not confirm a GTA 6 PC version or a date, which is why this does not reach Likely. Pre-orders remain PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Moves on: a Rockstar or Take-Two PC announcement, or a ratings-board listing.

GTA ONLINE WEEKLY

The GTA Online week of September 17 to 23 is Business Rivalries week three, the Gunrunning week: the Grapeseed Bunker is free, Bunker Research Missions pay 2X GTA$, RP and research progress, the Ammu-Nation Contract and Safeguard Deliveries pay 2X, three Bunker Research Missions earn GTA$1,000,000 and the camo Ammu-Nation suit under the month’s 10X Weekly Challenge bonus, REDACTED | LSS joins the Community Mission Series at 3X, and the Dolla Dolla livery is free for the Ocelot Ardent, Mammoth Avenger, Pegassi Oppressor and Oppressor Mk II. Likely to Confirmed. Every figure above is Rockstar’s: the September 3 Newswire post that launched the event set out all four weeks’ bonuses in advance, and Rockstar restated the week in four posts on its own X account on September 18 and 19. There was no separate Newswire post for the week, which is why this ledger scored it Likely on Friday. Rockstar names the reward the Camo Ammu-Nation Sweatsuit on the Newswire and the Camo Ammu-Nation Tracksuit on X. It gives no price for the Pegassi Horus, and RockstarINTEL and Power Up Gaming disagree ($2,810,000 against $2,180,000), so no price is carried. Moves on: the September 24 reset, which is Business Rivalries week four.

Source: Rockstar Newswire, September 3, the Business Rivalries Event; Rockstar Games on X, September 18, September 18, September 19 and September 19 Corrections. September 20: this item first said three Bunker Research Missions bank GTA$1,000,000; the million is the 10X Weekly Challenge bonus. September 24: the September 20 version said Rockstar had given no multiplier for Bunker Research Missions and called the 2X the trackers’ reading. The 2X is Rockstar’s, published in the September 3 Newswire post, and the Sweatsuit and Tracksuit names are both Rockstar’s.
ROCKSTAR TRIBUNAL

The Glasgow employment tribunal over Rockstar’s dismissal of 31 workers is in its second week, with no ruling and no settlement. Confirmed, held. The final hearing opened September 10 and is listed to October 16. Nothing from the hearing reached the record this week, which is usual for a live tribunal and is not a signal either way. The history stands: workers dismissed allegedly for union activity, Rockstar citing confidentiality breaches in private Discord messages, and a January ruling that refused interim relief without deciding the main question. Moves on: a ruling, a settlement, or on-record testimony.

What did not move

Nine tracked claims stayed where they were. PRE-ORDER FIGURE holds at Sensor Tower’s estimate near $446M to August 31 (Likely); Take-Two still gives no number and nobody asked for one at the meeting. GTA 6 DUALSENSE holds at Confirmed, two controllers with the black edition at $84.00. SUBPOENA SCOPE logged a second week past the September 4 deadline with no docket entry or statement on whether Microsoft or Discord complied. SMASH NEXT ENTRY sits where the September Nintendo Direct left it, with no dates in the claims and Malo932’s account renamed and scrubbed. COLLECTORS EDITION BOX stays Unverified on the deleted photos alone. FOOTAGE AGE, LEAKER PLAYABLE BUILD, RDR2 UPGRADE and 2K FOOTBALL RIVAL logged another quiet week. PRELOAD, NOVEMBER 12 and the GTA 6 DATE stand as last verified: November 12 preload Confirmed, November 19 Confirmed as a statement and Possible as an outcome until the day arrives.

Struck, but tracked

Debunked claims that keep resurfacing, carried forward so nobody has to relearn them: the $1 billion pre-order claim, the August 6 trailer, site changes as launch signals, the Trailer 3 window, all nine regions, and our own Kortz Center error.

The PlayTheory take

Since Edition 4 this ledger has said GTA Online’s relationship to GTA VI would move on a Take-Two remark at an investor event, and on September 17 it did. The answer is single-player at launch with no recurrent spending anticipated, and the online economy comes afterwards; Twitch’s CEO puts that at 2027, which stays Likely until Rockstar says it. The album and the first cast confirmation arrived the same week, singles first and character biographies first, while Rockstar still declines to publish a cast list or a PC plan. Two months out, the confirmed facts are the ones Rockstar and Take-Two choose to state.
