The GTA 6 rumour ledger exists for weeks like this one. The week’s biggest move is one of ours: we struck our own Kortz Center entry after finding it was written against a citation that does not exist. Beyond that, Rockstar touched the GTA 6 website three times in one day, region-locked pre-order codes went first-party, and a specific Trailer 3 date entered the log at the bottom of the credibility scale. Everything below is dated, attributed, and labelled by evidence state.

How to read this

Five evidence states, unchanged since Edition 1. Confirmed is first-party only, Rockstar or Take-Two on the record. Likely is strong secondary sourcing with a track record behind it. Possible is a plausible claim with no developer confirmation. Unverified is tracked for significance rather than credibility. Debunked is struck through and kept, because we do not delete our mistakes or anyone else’s.

Nothing below is a Rockstar announcement unless it says Confirmed and names a first-party source. A quiet week on the record is still information.

Evidence: Rockstar Newswire, “The Kortz Center Heist, Coming to GTA Online July 14” (9 July 2026) and “The Kortz Center Heist Now Available in GTA Online” (14 July 2026), both tagged GTA Online; Rockstar official X posts, 31 July 2026.

Evidence: Rockstar Support, 27 July 2026.

GTA 6 Trailer 3: signal or deployment?

Rockstar touched the GTA 6 website three times on 29 July. That is Confirmed as an event, and Unverified as a signal, and the split matters, because the fact and the meaning are not the same thing.

The fact: on 29 July, community trackers logged three separate backend changes to the GTA 6 website within a short window. No visible text or images changed. The changes were performance-focused: new CSS and JavaScript bundle hashes typical of a fresh build, plus the preloading of five of Rockstar’s custom Art Deco display fonts (GTAArtDeco_Bold, GTAArtDeco_CondensedBold, GTAArtDeco_CondensedHeavy, GTAArtDeco_Medium, and GTAArtDeco_Regular). That the changes happened is Confirmed; it is directly observable, we have independently verified the font preloads on the live site, and multiple trackers caught it, the first movement any of them had noted since late June.

The meaning is where it stops being fact. “Backend changes mean Trailer 3 is imminent” is a Possible claim at best. Studios preload assets and adjust deployment for routine reasons. Preloading display fonts is suggestive rather than conclusive, and the tracker who first flagged it said as much: it could be a monthly deployment worth watching, nothing more.

Evidence: community trackers (iGrandTheftAuto and others), 29 July 2026; PlayTheory’s own verification of the live page, 31 July 2026. No Rockstar statement.

Evidence: NateTheHate, late July 2026. Corroborating direction from other tracked insiders.

Evidence: single insider claim, late July 2026. Uncorroborated.

The ledger

Four tracked claims. Use the filters to sort by evidence state.

KORTZ CENTER

Kortz Center appears as a heist location in GTA 6 Debunked. Our error, and it was ours alone.

On 22 July our homepage ledger recorded this as Confirmed, citing a Rockstar Newswire item of the same date. We wrote that entry wrong: no such item exists. The real Newswire coverage of the Kortz Center is from 9 and 14 July, and it is GTA Online content. The Kortz Center Heist is live right now in GTA Online’s Summer Heist event, and Rockstar’s own posts this week feature it as a current Online heist, complete with new gallery pieces. Nothing first-party places the Kortz Center in GTA VI.

The claim moves from Confirmed to Debunked, struck and kept, and it goes on the public corrections page. This is the ledger’s fourth public correction, and the first where the error was entirely in our own writing rather than a bad source; the citation we recorded matched nothing. The taxonomy worked; the entry written against it did not. We wrote it, so the strike is ours.

Evidence: Rockstar Newswire, “The Kortz Center Heist, Coming to GTA Online July 14” (9 July 2026) and “The Kortz Center Heist Now Available in GTA Online” (14 July 2026), both tagged GTA Online; Rockstar official X posts, 31 July 2026.
PRE-ORDER CODES

Region-locked pre-order codes Confirmed

Rockstar Support pages state that GTA 6 pre-order bonus codes are tied to the region of the account that bought them. This moves from community claim to Confirmed on first-party documentation, dated 27 July. Practical effect: a code bought in one region may not redeem on an account set to another. We have a standalone explainer on which regions pair with which.

Evidence: Rockstar Support, 27 July 2026.
AUGUST MATERIAL

“A fair bit” of GTA 6 material arrives in August Likely

Two insiders with established records point the same way. NateTheHate says he expects to see a fair amount of GTA 6 next month, framing it as Rockstar sticking to a pre-set marketing plan, and separately reaffirms the November launch has not moved. This clears the Likely bar: strong secondary sourcing, consistent direction, plausible timing four months out from release. It is not Confirmed, because Rockstar has said nothing, and “a fair bit of material” is not a dated promise of anything specific.

Evidence: NateTheHate, late July 2026. Corroborating direction from other tracked insiders.
AUGUST 6 TRAILER

Trailer 3 lands specifically on 6 August Resolved: half right

The specific date traces to a single insider claim, attributed to Tom Henderson in reporting around the website-update story. One source, one date, no corroboration and no first-party signal. We log it because the significance is high if true, not because the evidence is strong. If 6 August passes without a trailer, this does not get quietly deleted; it gets struck and kept, like everything else.

Evidence: single insider claim, late July 2026. Uncorroborated.

Resolution, 6 August 2026: no trailer landed, and no footage did. What 6 August produced was Rockstar dating An Extended Look for 27 August: Netflix at 3 p.m. ET, then YouTube and the GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET. The date was right about something; the something was an announcement, not a trailer. Struck and kept, as promised.

PlayTheory Rumour Ledger Edition 3 card: the Kortz Center GTA 6 heist claim moves from Confirmed to Debunked, struck and kept.
The week’s headline move, struck and kept.

Open watchlist

  • November 19 launch: still Confirmed, still unmoved. Every insider commenting this week reaffirmed it, and we reconfirmed the date on Rockstar’s own GTA VI page before publishing. Worth stating precisely because the absence of a slip is itself the story a lot of readers are checking for. 111 days out.
  • RDR2 current-gen upgrade: Likely for existence, Unverified for timing. Carried from last edition. No first-party word this week.
  • GTA 6 pre-orders past ~$180M: Likely. Still an analyst estimate, not a Take-Two figure. This was our correction two editions ago and it stays corrected.

Struck and kept

  • Kortz Center appears as a heist location in GTA 6, Debunked, 31 July 2026. A wrongly written Ed. 2 entry: the cited Newswire item does not exist, and the real Kortz coverage is GTA Online. Remains on the record permanently.
  • $1B in GTA 6 pre-orders in week one, Debunked, traced to a misread currency conversion. Remains on the record permanently.
