THE RUMOUR LEDGER · ED. 11 · SEPTEMBER 19 TO 25, 2026

Rockstar’s GTA 6 Collector’s Box costs $399.99, holds eleven items and does not include the game. It does not settle the collector’s edition claim this ledger opened in Edition 9, which rests on photos of a box with a slot for a disc. Also scored: a podcast claim that Rockstar has reminded its cast of their NDAs, the $975,000 sign on the Kaseya Center, the last week of Business Rivalries, and Blizzard’s statement that StarCraft won’t be exclusive.

How to read this

The ledger tracks claims, not headlines. Every claim carries one of five evidence states: Confirmed (first-party, the publisher on the record), Likely (strong secondary sourcing with a track record), Possible (plausible, no developer confirmation), Unverified (tracked for significance, not credibility), and Debunked (struck through, kept on the page, because we do not delete our mistakes or anyone else’s). Each item names the trigger that would move it next.

The ledger

Seven claims are logged in full this week. Use the filters to sort by evidence state.

GOODTIME STATE BOX

Rockstar is selling an eleven-item GTA 6 Collector’s Box for $399.99, and the game is not in it. New entry, Confirmed. Rockstar announced “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” on its Newswire on September 24, describing it as “a premium Grand Theft Auto VI collectible set featuring all the essentials for a good time, inspired by Leonida’s hit TV show, Macca the Gator”. The post calls it an “exclusive, limited-edition Collector’s Box” that arrives on November 19 and is on pre-order at the Rockstar Store “while supplies last”, and it ends: “Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately.” The eleven items run from a 6-inch Macca the Gator figure with a stash compartment, matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses and a New Era 9FORTY snapback to a double-sided poster of the Leonida landscape. Rockstar’s post gives no price; the $399.99 is the Rockstar Store figure reported by Sole Retriever, and the $400 in most headlines is a rounding. Pre-order details for Asia, Latin America and Australia are still to come. Moves on: regional pre-orders opening, stock running out, or Rockstar announcing an edition of the game itself.

COLLECTORS EDITION BOX

Photos said to show a GTA 6 collector’s edition box, with a slot shaped for a disc, were posted by a packaging-firm employee and then deleted. Held at Unverified. This is the claim opened in Edition 9. Rockstar’s September 24 Collector’s Box does not settle it: that box contains no game, and nothing on the record ties it to the photographed box or accounts for the disc slot. Moves on: the photos being matched to a Rockstar product, Rockstar announcing an edition of the game with physical extras, or a credible debunk of the photos.

CAST NDA REMINDER

Rockstar has emailed GTA 6 actors to remind them they are under NDA until release day, according to a podcast. New entry, Possible. The claim comes from episode 141 of the GTAVIoclock podcast and was relayed by Insider Gaming on September 21 under a headline ending “It’s Claimed”. Insider Gaming points to listeners who say the hosts have long-standing contacts at Rockstar North, and tells readers to take the report “with a pinch of salt, just in case”. It follows Stephen Root’s public confirmation of his role on September 14 (FIRST CAST MEMBER, Edition 10). NDAs that run to launch day are routine, which makes the claim plausible; there is no named source and nothing from Rockstar. Moves on: Rockstar on the record, or an actor confirming the email on the record.

MIAMI TAKEOVER

Rockstar is paying Miami-Dade County $975,000 for a “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the Kaseya Center, and the sign went up on September 22. New entry, Likely. The sign was airlifted onto the Miami Heat’s arena in sections through September 22. The payment comes from the county agreement, first reported by WLRN on September 18 and put at $975,000 by Local 10 and the Miami Herald. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava signed it under her delegated authority for contracts below $1 million, so the $1 million in most headlines is a rounding of a deal kept under that line. GamesRadar reports protests from some local police members; the proposal had already cleared local officials. Rockstar has said nothing on the record about the campaign, so this scores Likely rather than Confirmed. Moves on: a Rockstar statement, or further installations. Our report: Rockstar is paying Miami-Dade County $975,000 for the sign.

GTA ONLINE WEEKLY

The GTA Online week of September 24 to 30 is the last week of Business Rivalries: the Elysian Island Nightclub is free, GTA$1,000,000 in sales across businesses earns a GTA$1,000,000 bonus and the Retro Fruit Tracksuit, and the Penaud La Coureuse can be claimed free this week only. Confirmed. Rockstar set out all four event weeks in its September 3 Newswire post and posted the nightclub week on X on September 24. Nightclub Goods Missions and QuickiePharm Deliveries pay 2X GTA$ and RP, and Nightclub Management Missions give 2X Popularity. Moves on: the October 1 reset and whatever Rockstar announces to follow the event. Our report: Business Rivalries ends on September 30.

ROCKSTAR TRIBUNAL

The Glasgow employment tribunal over Rockstar’s dismissal of 31 workers is in its third week, with no ruling and no settlement. Held at Confirmed. The final hearing opened September 10 and is listed to October 16. Nothing from the hearing reached the record this week, which is usual for a live tribunal and is not a signal either way. Moves on: a ruling, a settlement, or on-record testimony.

STARCRAFT PLATFORMS

Blizzard says the new StarCraft shooter will not be exclusive. New entry, Confirmed as a statement. A Blizzard spokesperson told Kotaku on September 21 that it “can only say for now that StarCraft won’t be exclusive”, and that a story calling it an Xbox exclusive would need a correction. Xbox is the only platform Blizzard has named, through its UK social account; the spokesperson named no other. The game was announced at BlizzCon with a 2030 window. The entry is scored on the statement as given: not exclusive, with no second platform named. Moves on: Blizzard naming another platform.

What did not move

Twelve tracked claims held their evidence states this week.

GTA 6 MULTIPLAYER 2027 holds at Likely, with no Rockstar or Take-Two follow-up to the Twitch CEO’s 2027 remark logged in Edition 10. PC PORT TIMING holds at Possible with nothing new on the record. PRE-ORDER FIGURE holds at Likely with no new figure from Take-Two or the estimate firms. SUBPOENA SCOPE logs a third week past the September 4 deadline with no docket entry or compliance statement we could find from Microsoft or Discord; being named in the filing is not an accusation. GTA 6 DUALSENSE holds at Confirmed. PRELOAD, NOVEMBER 12 holds at Confirmed. GTA 6 DATE stays Confirmed as a statement and Possible as an outcome until November 19 arrives. FOOTAGE AGE, LEAKER PLAYABLE BUILD, RDR2 UPGRADE, 2K FOOTBALL RIVAL and SMASH NEXT ENTRY all logged quiet weeks.

Struck, but tracked

Debunked claims that keep resurfacing, carried forward so nobody has to relearn them.

  • GTA 6 already did $1 billion in pre-orders.
  • A trailer was coming on August 6.
  • Website backend changes signal launch news.
  • The World Cup final was a Trailer 3 window.
  • GTA 6 Ultimate topped pre-orders in all nine regions.
  • The Kortz Center payout figure. Our error, kept on the list with everyone else’s.

The PlayTheory take

Rockstar’s Collector’s Box for GTA 6 is merchandise: eleven items arriving on launch day, with the game sold separately. It does not answer the question this ledger opened in Edition 9, which was about a box with a slot for a disc, so that claim stays Unverified until the photos are matched to a product or debunked. In the same week Rockstar committed $975,000 to a sign on the Kaseya Center and made no statement on the campaign, the cast or the box beyond its store announcement.
